SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 17

Requesting the Joint Committee on Government and Finance to make
a legislative interim study of administration and control of
commercial vehicles.
Whereas, Commercial vehicles are subject to a variety of
governmental controls which are complex and burdensome; and
Whereas, It is in the best interest of West Virginia to
facilitate administration and control of commercial vehicles in
an efficient manner and to reduce the bureaucratic burden upon
owners and operators of commercial vehicles; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Joint Committee on Government and Finance is hereby
requested to review, examine and study the administration and
control of commercial vehicles with a view toward bringing such
administration and control within a single administrative agency;
and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Joint Committee on Government and
Finance report to the regular session of the Legislature, 1999,
on its findings, conclusions and recommendations, together with drafts of any legislation necessary to effectuate its
recommendations; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the expenses necessary to conduct
this study, to prepare a report and to draft necessary
legislation be paid from legislative appropriations to the Joint
Committee on Government and Finance.
